Monica Stallings is an experienced family attorney, mediator, and Certified Divorce Coach®. While Monica has a strong record as a trial attorney, her passion and focus is collaborative law.
Monica began her family law career in Austin, Texas, where she ultimately opened her own law firm and also worked as a family law mediator. Since moving to Seattle in 2022, Monica has also become a Certified Divorce Coach®, a practice wherein she can support her clients emotionally and practically with a tenured insider’s understanding. As a family lawyer and mediator, Monica serves her clients with creative, collaborative, and thoughtful advocacy. As a coach, she works with clients to minimize the trauma of divorce before, during, and after the process, with a goal of helping people thrive, not just survive. And regardless of the role she is playing, nothing matters more to Monica than showing her clients empathy and giving them the tools and support they need to live happier, more peaceful lives.
Monica received her Bachelor of Arts from Boston College, where she fell in love with her pre-law classes, especially First Amendment and the Law, Argumentation Theory, and Cyberlaw. When it came time to determine which law school to attend, Monica visited Seattle on a cold, rainy day in March and promptly fell in love with the city. She attended Seattle University School of Law, where she focused her studies on Intellectual Property and Family Law. Her classmates and professors told her that she was destined for family law, but she fought that prophecy, believing that her parents' divorce was more than enough family turmoil for one lifetime. But fate had different plans, and after a few years in corporate tax, Monica finally found her way to family law, a field in which she could connect emotionally with her clients and make a lasting impact on real people's everyday lives.
Monica currently lives in Seattle with her husband and goldendoodle. She spends her free time compulsively reading mystery novels, watching standup comedy, and learning to ballroom dance.
