Biography
Cydney Fermstad, a paralegal at Northwest Family Law, brings a unique blend of human services expertise and legal acumen to our team. Graduating from Western Washington University with a B.A. in Human Services and a minor in Sociology, Cydney’s journey in advocacy and social work began with impactful internships at DVSAS and Womencare Shelter, later transitioning into a vital role as a Women’s Support Advocate at Womencare Shelter. After graduation, her deep involvement in supporting domestic violence survivors at The Salvation Army in Seattle not only demonstrated her dedication to helping those in need but also ignited her passion for the legal field, leading her to attain a Paralegal Studies Certificate from the University of Washington.
With nearly a decade of experience in the legal sector, Cydney has honed her skills in civil litigation, particularly in construction law, and contributed significantly to the Family Support Division of the Snohomish County Prosecutor’s Office. Her role there involved working closely with parents on issues related to child support and parentage, showcasing her ability to handle sensitive legal matters with both professionalism and empathy. At Northwest Family Law, Cydney is enthusiastic about merging her background in social work with her litigation experience, making her a valuable asset to our clients.
Outside of work, Cydney’s life is full of adventure and joy. Residing in Snohomish with her husband, son, and beloved pets Kona and Cleo, she embraces the beauty of the Pacific Northwest through hiking and exploring. A fan of local culture, Cydney enjoys attending concerts, sampling cuisine at local restaurants and breweries, delving into novels, and is a proud supporter of the Seattle Seahawks. Her well-rounded life and professional experiences make her an integral part of our Northwest Family Law team.
